Rome IX is a Canadian Indie-Soul musician whose artistry spans music, acting, and filmmaking. Based in Calgary, Rome draws inspiration from personal and observed experiences, ever a student of the human condition. His artistry is defined by a passion for deep lyrics, soulful arrangements, and storytelling influenced by artists like Jason Mraz, Miguel, and Stevie Wonder.

A two-time YYC Music Awards nominee, Rome IX released his debut album, Losing in Vain, a ten-song blend of Indie-Soul and Funk. Written by Rome IX, the album reflects more than a decade of musical growth and features an eight-piece band with a horn section. The project combines live instruments and electronic production, mixing modern tones with the energy of live performance.

Rome's connection with his audience truly flourishes when he takes the stage, whether performing with a band, solo acoustic sets, or through live-looping. He has graced the stages of notable festivals like 'Moonlight Market' and 'Market Collective', as well as various well-known venues in Calgary such as 'The Palomino' and 'The King Eddy'. Opening for artists such as Janette King, King of Foxes, and Yolanda Sargeant, Rome continues to showcase his music and talent. 

Rome's passion for music ignited during his high school years, shortly after picking up the guitar and teaching himself to play. He soon began writing his own songs, showcasing his innate talent for crafting captivating melodies and heartfelt lyrics. His first production credit came on the track "Deep In My Heart," which he worked on with Trinidadian Gospel artist Mekaiel.  

Beyond his own artistic endeavors, Rome's music and productions have made an impact in the local Calgary scene. His work has been featured in short films and projects by fellow Calgary artists such as ‘Jeziah’, 'Twizzie Ramos' and 'Zacarias', further solidifying his presence and influence within the creative community. 

With dedication to his craft and a desire to create music that resonates with listeners on a profound level, Rome IX is an artist who continues to build and evolve.
